Correct. When I was on the phone with Browning, they strongly suggested having a professional do the bedding. I nodded, said sure, and had a buddy who has bedded a few rifles do this for me. I've since taken this rifle to the range--with the new stock and mcarbo trigger spring upgrade, shooting experience was quite a bit better. I'm pleased with the results, especially considering relatively low cost.

That rifle is pretty sweet! I am going down a duplicate path as you. I chose a 7mm PRC composite stalker with the SS receiver. It will take me a while to put together but like that I have 2 stock options depending on mood and condition. Do you have a total weight on that setup so i can get an idea?

To make it easier, I weighed the MAX stock and it was right at 2.6 lb on a food scale. My rig with the max stock weighs 9.5 lb but that is with a 4-16x Zeiss Conquest 4 and a 24" barrel. I attribute the slightly heavier weight to the scope and barrel length versus therealthor1's setup. Hope that helps!

For those who have done the "Max" upgrade, can you provide some clarity on the difference in weight, as opposed to the end weight, between the "stock" stock and the Max upgrade?
