No one wants that if they truly dig into it. Random draws are not your friend and certainly are not fair. You could have points and draw guaranteed every several years, move that same tag to random and you may never draw. A true bonus draw with a wait period after drawing may be just what we need up here in Wyoming.

Also, lots of folks bitching about Colorado, but 2028 can’t come soon enough.

Thats funny, I am quite confident our dept. Has fewer leftist nut jobs than any other dept. In the west. Killing all the wolves will not do a damn thing, we have very few. Montana and Idaho are a different story... And we have what you are proposing. No points, straight random. It blows. I know many folks that have never drawn a good tag in a lifetime of applying. Others that draw every year and take it for granted, shooting 7" pronghorn and raghorn bulls on tags that should take 10+ years to draw (statistically). At least we have generals!

Wyoming F&G is a disaster. Ling in the lakes, putting Lake Trout into the Flaming Gorge destroying what arguably was the best Brown trout fishery in the States. Back in the early 80's yes it was a great department, now it's a joke. Look at these limits on sport fish. This is an obvious failure of epic proportions. Even Burbot(Ling) are limited and it is harmful to trout fisheries. The last 4 times I hunted Wyoming I saw no less than 4 wolves on each trip. I also saw at least one Grizzly bear. Wyoming could do more to reign in predators.

Comments about youth are pretty wild on here. I have more issue with a 65 year old hunting 30 straight days after getting his 50th elk tag and 50th deer tag, most likely having hunted 2-3 times for moose, etc (in Colorado) than a 12-14 year getting a 2 point unit in the 2nd draw or whatever special privileges that youth in Colorado get…which isn’t much. An extended female season? Woah! Call the press!

Not sure what statement you are referring to... Once again, the point is that NON RES youth are taking tags away from resident youth and adults. We have the most generous OTC hunting in the west and plentiful tags that could have been pulled in primary. Why do we have resident youth competing with non resident youth? These NR youth can also hunt their own, most likely generous state. The premise of "getting kids into hunting" doesn't make a lick of sense here when parents are driving across the country for this kind of thing. Plenty of opportunity back in their own state.

If you want to see how a bonus point system works, move to WA. You will quickly realize, you are *&^%ed. 23 years of applying and still have not drawn a tag (elk, deer, sheep, moose) for anything with horns. Of course, points creep for certain areas in CO might be worse.
