I just purchased Exodus and I'm tempted to try tooth of the arrow (USA made!)

Straight-on shot in relatively heavy cover. Let him sit an hour in 95 degree temps before we started tracking just in case. Wasn't necessary as he only made it 100 yards. Not sure how he made it that far with an arrow hanging 20" out of his hindquarter.......

Pretty impressed the arrow went through all that without even a dent in the blades.

How can there be a discussion of 3 blade heads without the head that has probably taken more game than any other head and is still a top notch design- the Thunderhead. Cheap too.

I started shooting Thunderhead 100s when I started bowhunting back in ‘92. I tried Grim Reaper(GR) Micro Hades 100s a couple of years ago. The GR heads weren’t as durable as the Thunderheads and the blood trail was way worse than the Thunderheads. Now I know why I’ve never shot anything else before. I switched back to Thunderheads and will never try another broadhead again.

QAD has been my go to for the past few years with Easton 4mm deep six shafts. Changing up this year and going to try the Muzzy Trocar Hybrid head. Whitetail setups to clarify.

There use to be a head called a crimson talon. That was to this day the most brutal head I’ve ever seen on whitetails. I’ve seen a couple holes that were unbelievable. Not sure if they are still around or not.

MD3 for me. It has been very forgiving and consistently more accurate than the QAD. Holds an edge extremely well, simple to sharpen and a very durable one solid piece design. Leaves a nice triangular hole instead of three slits.

So many suggestions for the QAD exodus already but they are the real deal. Super strong and very consistent pack to pack.

Generally, the answers you will get are "what I bought most recently." I like the Ramcats for a fixed 3 blade, and have found recently the Ramcat Hemoshock has been deadly on wild hogs. Reality is, there are a lot of excellent heads out there.

Those Doom heads look pretty cool but man that is a lot going on. 4 screw for blades, plus the normal threads for insert, a lot of things that can "move". For a 4 blade option they look pretty stout. My luck a screw would be loose and a blade would be rattling thru the air.

QAD Exodus gave me full pass through on everything I shot in Africa…. And that’s going through the thickest part of their shoulder / torso to get to heart/vitals. Fly like absolute darts, are razor sharp, and make a nasty hole. Entry on eland shown and exit on a impala shown

1600+ pound Eland, Kudu, gemsbok, sable, etc

I was always a Thunderhead guy too but after 1 season of foolishly trying Rages years ago I went back to fixed heads and have since been using the Woodsman Elites in 125. 3 blade 1 piece, easy to re-sharpen. I've had several pass throughs where they still drove down a good 6-8" into the dirt. What I like about them best is the long tapered style. Long tapered head with cut-on-contact point translates to great penetration. My last two WT bucks were complete pass throughs and were dead in seconds. Both were shot with the same exact head, and hardly had to sharpen it again. I know a WT isn't an elk and pass throughs on WTs are common, but having killed an elk with a Thunderhead I have zero doubt these Woodsmans will do the job on a any animal.

I shot those and the Trailmakers for awhile out of my recurve.

I do like a tapered design head because they penetrate effortlessly....but those are so tapered the tips are weak and they bend easy.

I could see where that could be a concern. Fortunately I haven't had that experience, not yet anyway. On one shot it passed through a doe and stuck right into the root ball on a hardwood tree. Had to unscrew it from the arrow and it was in so deep I needed pliers to get it out. That one I ended up breaking the threaded shaft as it came out of the root (I think I put too much side to side pressure on it) but the tip remained straight.
