I’ve lived and worked construction in the whitest states in the country, and on every construction crew I’ve ever worked on or been around, racism is alive and well. It makes me laugh when anyone suggests otherwise - they either are blind to it, or choose to deny it. The west was full of different races after the civil war - Chinese railroad workers, emancipated slaves, Mexico recently extended clear up to Wyoming, Basque sheep herders, and every other ethnicity looking for a homestead. Junior high history books used to have photos of a lot of brown looking guys hanging from a noose - cattle rustlers was always the excuse, but there’s no doubt lynchings were alive and well throughout the west. Traditional history books omitted a lot of the dark side, as well as the accomplishments of minorities out west. The reason the whitest states are the still the whitest states today isn’t because tan folks don’t like the climate, it’s because people get tired of the racial jokes every day, being the last to get hired and first fired, getting less money for the same job, never getting promoted, or always getting the crap project to work on. That’s not even counting having property vandalized, or drunk guys looking to fight anyone that doesn’t look like them.

Operation normal - it probably won’t change anytime soon.

When I read the OP, I never thought this discussion would turn racial. The world can be a shitty place, but we aren't going to debate all social injustices out there.

Rokslide is a forum focused on hunting and hunting gear. As such, that's what discussion topics should remain keyed in on.
