Lets Debate... AKEK is The Better Hunting Pack System

Hey brother, I actually was lucky to use the 5400 pack last season for a high country mule deer hunt in Washington state. I used this pack and boy when I say the 17 mile trail to get to our spot was rough (it was brutal, so many downed trees covered the path all the way there) but the pack was super comfy and surprisingly my gun was able to stay attached to the quick release system they have built in. I thought that would be a problem because it doesn’t feel super secure but it really is. My buddy and I packed out a nice mule deer and that was heavy. But the pack was super comfy and easy to adjust on the move so I didn’t have to stop a bunch. I would recommend this pack to anyone mostly because of the frame and the quick release options. Super super nice and the pack came with so many pouches I can use for a bunch of stuff.

AKEK what do you think the odds pale path finder joined this forum, found a thread that hadn’t been bumped for 9 days, made this post and ghosted?

Y’all could have just made some videos of your pack with 150 pounds in it over the last 2.5 months since I posed my original question.

I recently purchased one. It HAS VERY GOOD POTENTIAL. The huge issue is the belt. They have two sizes. To be anywhere near competitive with the big guys. Multiple suspension sizes is a MUST! The standard size and then an enormous size. They need to add a belt in between to cover their bases. The small is so small the belt pouches were behind me. The larger one was so big I could not even tighten it.

Let's address this Akek! I want to put one through it's paces👍

@Marbles 150lb load is a tall order for any pack. I would be pretty certain that almost no one is carrying that efficiently. A few guys sure. Maybe you're one of them.
Idk… it seemed more efficient at the time to one trip this lion out of a hell hole of a canyon… maybe a little less efficient after hitting the tailgate 😂

A tall order for sure, I’m not sure there’s any pack that would have made it “comfortable” but I can say that the K4 handled the awkward floppy 150+ lb load up and out of there better than I could. And I don’t remember ever thinking, boy if I had a better pack this wouldn’t suck so bad lol.

According to the OP, I guess maybe I should have had theirs...

I decided to put an Akek 2100 to the test. Went through the ordering process and was rejected because they do not freight to New Zealand. That was quite a few months ago, Just tried again, same outcome. So there they are, talking a big game but wont market to one of the best hunting pack proving grounds in the world. Disappointing. Ive messaged them to see if there is likely to be a change in policy.

Im not desperate for one but was intrigued by this thread and the balance (imbalance?) of views. Was prepared to try one, but I guess I will now never know.

They have a decent product. The main issue is with their suspension size. They only offer two different sizes and there is an enormous gap between the two. Supposedly the frame is made in America. I would have expected the frame to be much nicer than it was. There were quite a few very sharp edges to it. I would expect MUCH more from an American product. If they can get that company to clean their carbon fiber product up. And make a belt to fit in between the anorexic one and the Behemoth one. They actually have a great product with those two fixes.
