Breaking Bad vs The Sopranos

Which is the better show?

I’ve rewatched The Sopranos 2-3x. I actually gave up on BB about halfway through but eventually came back and finished it.

I watch clips of both on FB regularly but would say I found the Sopranos more entertaining.
There's just so much dialog in Sopranos. I'm not a simpleton where I need constant action but I could almost listen to The Sopranos as an audio book on some eps it felt like.

I’ve never been able to finish BB. I don’t find any character very likable. I thoroughly enjoyed BCS. I’m on my second time watching BCS. It holds up.

The Sopranos was pretty good. Not my favorite show.

I prefer The Wire to any other show. I lived in Baltimore from 2001-2005. That show captured the time and place really well. It is also full of life lessons about how bureaucracy works and how systems interconnect. There are some deep truths in that show and also a few deep lies masquerading as truths. On the whole, it just doesn’t get much better.
I noticed a few characters in Sopranos that also placed in The Wire.

I voted for BB for a simple reason: The mafia story has been told a million times in one way or another, but a terminally ill chem teacher who rules the world of meth is simply over the top for originality.

Breaking Bad
Sons of Anarchy
Sopranos

In that order. I should give The Wire a watch based off this thread.

Justified gets an honorable mention.

The symbolism in BB was very effective. For example, I believe it was in the next to last episode when

Mike hires the 'make me disappear man" and motors down the 2 lane hwy at first light as a coyote (or a K9) crosses the highway soon after and never smells/notices they had just passed this way.

Non- verbal, subtle. Devastating.

Justified is another good one!

As someone who has seen breaking bad 4 or 5 times from beginning to end, I can honestly say I don't understand why people loved Better Call Saul. For me it was painfully slow and boring. No, the complexity of the characters, and the great writing wasnt lost on me, I just feel that without BB, the show would never have been a hit on its own.

I was a big TWD fan until around the time Neegan showed up. Don't get wrong, I don't mind main characters dying as I despise predictable shows. It just seemed to go downhill after that. I never finished it... used to look forward to every Sunday for the first several years.
