Braggin Board for Fishing!

Last month I did a remote hundred-mile, ten-day, single person raft float in western AK. The fly fishing was excellent every day...

The river was also loaded with grizzlies...and one surprise close-encounter that ended well for both me and the sow with a second year cub!

Wanted to throw bigger streamers and knew it wouldn’t be a high volume day on the water. This was the last of three fish I caught that day. 19.5, 20.5 & 23 1/4. All three were my best until I caught the next one.

Was able to cross another BIG one off my bucket list this fall. Caught a massive sturgeon on the Snake River in Hells Canyon with a buddy. Took an hour and a half and my butt was kicked thoroughly! We got him in the boat in a bad place for the obligatory picture in the water together and did not want to tow him back across the river to a shallow spot. Marked the boat and measured when we got back home. Genuine 10 footer. One of the top experiences of my life. Fought as good as my 100#+ tarpon on the fly rod. Scenery and company were worth the trip alone.
