Thanks! How far offshore were you when you caught those big Ling? I caught one in the Monterey Bay that big once, looked incredible coming up under my kayak.

Yeah I caught that bsb at a spot I fish for halibut that has a whole bunch of white sharks during the summer. This pic was taken the same day I caught that BSB. I’m up front and two of my brothers were behind me, we see a lot of juvenile whites, 6-10’ and they take off when you paddle up to them, this ~15’ Great White didn’t care at all when we got close, I ended up about 6’ away checking it out.

You guys on a Delta? Looks like a Delta deck and bait station. It’s funny that the best REALLY big lingcod bait is another ling… I would say 4 of the 5 biggest ling every year come up eating another ling. Looks like that one was pretty committed!

What a giant, that's awesome! Electric reels at that depth hopefully?
From what I know, we are the only charter boat with a full set of electric reels, but before this year I was cranking a lot of lead for people… love the aspect of being able to target fish even in 145 fathoms, hand crank reels it’s just not conducive to target fish those depths

You're probably pretty happy with electric reel upgrades every time you need to check bait or reel up to start a new drift. 800'+ is a long way down! I bet it makes it easier to fish some different water then everyone else too. Good job on the fish!
