Bow Release Gloves for Index Release

This is my first year bow hunting.

What do you guys wear for hand warmth for mid to late season when you use an index release?

I bought a pair of Scentlok gloves that accommodate an index release. Two things: 1. Even though they were supposed to be ”full season” gloves, they are not. They are very lightweight, and 2. There is an opening on the inside of the wrist for the index release to stick through, but it is too tight for my release.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I wear basic mechanix gloves, if it real cold I keep my hands in pockets

When it’s cold I’ll wear a “muff” and throw a couple hand warmers inside. Works great and doesn’t affect grip or release hand. Here’s an example though I don’t use this particular one

I use a pocket. Like a kangaroo style pocket, or "handwarmer" Keep my release in it.


I can't shoot with gloves nearly as well as without. I can wear a thin jersey glove on my bow hand, release hand is naked. I hate cold, don't handle it well, but can tough it out with those options.

I don't use an index release anymore, but I did the same things when I did. If you are going to use gloves with an index, I'd make sure I remove the cuff of the glove. Need consistent distance there, and glove cuffs will mess with that.
