Bugle them in have since the 80s…..always have been aggressive and never will change for me does not matter if day 1 or end of season…..2 recent examples 2018 back surgery in august could not get close to a bow but buddy calls me in late September can you cover some ground and call hell yes we went out for four hours in heavily hunted Idaho unit and called this bull in for my buddy 14 yds…..then 2021 opening weekend calling for different friend called in two dandy six points could not get a shot …..hr later called in a hunter we talked…he is like I should not tell you this but an hr ago there were four bulls right here and one real screamer…..my buddy finally had to tell him that was me and before the elk piped once they it took a good among of taking to get them interested and once they did they came in super quick….many ways to get it done but calling does and will work in the right setting and proper non man sounds….good luck In the jungles without talking it is verrry tough I follow with elknut and talk them up….without elk talking my success would have been much less……..that same 2018 season when I was able to get out with a rifle in late October I gave a few bugles and a bull ran in on me in the same drainage…calling has always been my game and will be until I am done elk huniting..
Locate bugle/chuckles, close the distance fast to 100-200yds, once your close start stomping and raking with a big ole stick…They can’t resist the party.
