Mmm bourbon.

My go to's are Jeffersons and Bulleit Rye. For a spendy bottle the Angels Envy Rye is hard to beat, makes their regular bourbon taste like swill. Duke's is also a very good one for the price. Not a fan of Eagle Rare personally.

I was able to try some Old Foreseter King Ranch last week as my boss had some at his house. Its quite good as well.

Fiancé wants to get me a really nice bottle. Her words are "$100 minimum" and "something you'd never buy for yourself." Anyone have any suggestions? I know this is a vague question as palettes and preferences are huge but I'm not too picky.

For me, considering bottles that are not too hard to find, I would go with one of the following:
  • Knob Creek 18
  • Woodford Reserve Batch Proof
  • Peerless Toasted
If you have a friend that is well connected on the secondary market, then tell her to ask him and get something you know that you enjoy. For me, that would be something like Weller Full Proof, Stagg, or Penelope Rio.

@wayoh22 There are a lot of great suggestions in this thread already. You are correct that it is hard to pick something for you without knowing what else you like. Maybe check out Seelbach's or WoodenCork if you haven't before.

I'll throw out these:

Leopold Bros Three Chamber Collectors Edition Rye Whiskey

Old Carter, Stagg, Elijah Craig 18 sb
