Bourbon

just found this thread, I love my bourbon. My all time favorite is GTS or pappy 23 year. That said the pappy I had was from like 10 years ago and Im not sure how it compares to more recent stuff. right now I am loving the Haystack needle by redwood empire. this years Is the first year of their own mash bill and its great stuff

I didnt get any haystack needle but do love redwood empires stuff.

If you can find a bottle of buff-turkey its worth the $300-400 a bottle cost. Its the best stuff I have had in a while.

Buffalo Trace before it became cool and unobtainium. Rare Breed and Knob Creek 12 are the go-tos now. Used to keep a bottle of heaven hill white label under the sink to clean really stubborn stains off my floor and would take a shot now and then to punish myself.

Some of the Japanese whiskey is exceptional for price ie Nikka Coffey grain.
Otherwise have Woodford reserve for US based.
Balvenie 21 for the win

Always liked bourbon, but I went through a real bourbon phase recently. I like lots of different flavors, but I've really taken a liking to Still Austin. Their cask strength is tremendous.

Elijah Craig toasted barrel is also a really solid bottle and almost all of their barrel strength releases are good for when you're looking for more heat.

It’s so weird to me some people can’t find it. Literally dozens and dozens of bottles here. Of all sizes.

I'm not a big bourbon fan but a local distillery makes one I like.

I'm more of a rye and Canadian blended guy

1968 Cabin Still collection bottle. I keep an ever -flowing /never runs dry blend of bourbon in this antique bottle. Top it off with whatever gets opened. Evan Williams bottled in bond, Benchmark small batch, Old Forester, Four Roses, 1792, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Bulleit, Basil Hayden...is what I can remember that's swilling around in it lately. Keeps memories going of special drinks shared with friends... Cheers, all!

There are some phone apps that can track your infinity bottle if you wanted to try to replicate or maintain it at a certain flavor profile. The Whiskey Shelf is one that tracks your inventory and can track an infinity bottle.

Since moving from WA to PA it has been difficult to find decent/good bourbons since they are state stores here. However, if you are willing to take a little drive you can find some hidden gem liquor store with good prices. Came home with a decent selection. Out of all these, Bib and Tucker is one of my favorites.IMG_2306.jpeg
