Good God Reburn! Send me coordinates and I ll be over....

Anybody tried the Boone and Crockett club whiskey? There was an 80 proof and 86 proof bourbon ($30) and 86 proof rye ($35) in Glenwood springs store. Cool but I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Cool bottle with elk skull and "tag" around neck. I ll prob get one next time. Didn't look they were moving many... Maybe get rye for old fashioned... even if its not great could mask it...

( now that I've asked the question I ll go back in this thread to see if anyone has already answered it, thanks).
All those are rough. Consider it a donation to B&C and use it if you like making mixed drinks. The year before they released it they had a sampling at Sheep Show where I tried all three…did NOT go back for any seconds.

I went looking for the Jimmy Russell 70th only to find out its going to be super allocated here. Yet another I probably won't get to taste.

Left with a Smokewagon toasted.

If you're a toasted fan, look for a Penelope Toasted Rye, very good for the price point.

The barrell seagrass in regular form and grey label and gold label is hands down one of my top 5 all time favorites.

I find all barrell stuff to be at least above average to great.
I've only had the gold Seagrass, it was phenomenal.

I generally prefer darker whiskeys, but yeah, the worst of the barrel of Barrels is a well above average whiskey.

Never judge a bottle by it's label!

What is some recommendations for someone who hasn't (ive tried maybe 2 in my life and they tasted like ass) tried bourbon but wants to?
I just started a few months ago on my journey. I started with old fashions. Sweeter and knocks the proof down. Just starting to dabble with on the rocks but I still get burn on anything over 100 proof. Drinking neat isn't for me yet but I am a guy who only drinks cold coffee. So I am not sure I will ever like neat.

Angels envy is always one of my favorites.

James pepper decanter or frank august are solid bourbon profiles that aren't too hard to find or expensive. Some of the Russell's single barrel picks are delicious too.

I'll have to see if I can find Angels, actually looks good.

Wife is going into town and apparently a local Walmart has Buffalo Trace, that's been one I've read alot of for a starter, so we'll find out tomorrow at my inlaws. 😂
