I just ordered the stalking sheep in Alaska by Tony Russ.

I'm getting the sheep hunting bug since I applied for a Alaska sheep tag again. Last time I hunted was in 2010 archery. Hopefully I get drawn come Feburary!

Both are great reads. They are not sheep hunts only, but very well written. Alaska's Wolfman was my favorite.

Thanks, I am going to have to pick a few up you recommended. I want to build a hunting library as you mentioned.

In the Shadow of Mount Mckinley by William n. Beach(Guide to Western Alaska Range outside of Denali NP)
A Hunter's Alaska by Raymond F. Chandler(essential for DS203) Nuff said.
Big Game Hunting in the Far North by Philip Neuweiler(Really good on tactics)
One Man's Wilderness by Warren Page
Big Game Hunting by Elmer Keith
Snyder's Book of Big Game Hunting by Col. Harry Snyder
Trail of the Eagle by Bud Conkle
Quest for Dall Sheep: Story of the World Record Dall Sheep by Jack Wilson
Alaska Bear Tales by Harold McCracken- First hunt into Chitina Glacier
Alaska Nellie by Nellie Lawling- She at one time had 1, 2, 3 largest dall sheep.
One of my favorites To Far Western Alaska by T.R. Hubback- He killed some absolute monsters with a 450-500 Hollis Double Rifle. Andy Simons was his guide.
Hunting and Fishing in the Territory of Alaska by Ward Gay
Big Game Big Country by Dr. Chauncey Guy Suits Alaska Range Dall sheep hunting.
Fred Bear's Field Notes- Fred Bear- Bows on the Little Delta-Glenn St. Charles-

I could go back and get a bunch more from my library. Right now I am more into my notes and stories.

I should note that Jack O'Connor's Hunting on Three Continents are two books directed about sheep hunting.

I am about 1 year from my book about history of guiding in the
Wrangells.
Just got to get pictures. Book 2 is about half done.

Always seem to find out more stuff and want to backtrack.
Howard Knutson is helping me so it should speed up a bit when he gets back from Cabo.

Sincerely,
Thomas

Not sure I knew that you were writing a book. Be sure to let us know when it's available, I will look forward to it!

Lots of great recommendations for good reading, I should take advantage of the winter slow down to do some reading I suppose.
