Book recommendation

With the Old Breed
E.B. Sledge
His story in WW2 with the Marines in the Pacific.

Between Predator and Prey
Wildlife Service trapper in Montana dealing with grizzly and wolves.

"A sand county almanac" By Aldo Leopold. Written in kind of short, choppy, chapters so you can basically turn it to any page and start reading then put down to go hunt without losing your place. Plus, as the father of conservation, it is a book we should all read. I take it to my deer stand every year.

If you like post apocalyptic type stuff, checkout "One Second After" by William Forstchen
Can't believe I forgot this one. One of best books I've ever read. Couldn't put it down, read it in 2 days.

Excellent read!

Walden by Thoreau is a short great one also.

Capstick is always good reading.

Fingerprints of the God's - Graham Hancock. Great book about the possibility of antediluvian civilizations having advanced technology. Very interesting read.

For an absolutely cannot put it down book, The Firm by Grisham. I read it in one day because I just couldn’t stop.

I’m looking for some recommendations for a book or two to take on a backcountry hunt where the Alaska weather could have us trapped in a tent for a few days. But let me say, I’m not a book reader. I need something easy to read and fast paced that keeps you engaged. The only books I’ve read in the past were children’s books to my kids and now grandkids.
Red Notice by Bill Browder. Unbelievable non fiction account of Russian shenanigans. Page turner

Endurance about the Shakleton voyage to Antarctica. Puts your problems into perspective.

For fiction, check out Louis Lamour’s Sackett series. Quick reads, western themes, strong male protagonists

Empire of the Summer Moon, Coyote America, and American Serengeti were all good to me recently
