So its a new Springfield Waypoint. put 10 factory rounds down range yesterday, no issues.

Went to pull the bolt our this morning to clean, bolt opened really tough, had to give it a little with a rubber mallet but it opened up.

Now, putting the bolt back in i can get it about 50% closed, havent tried to force it the rest of the way.

Lots of smart "gunsmithy" folks on here, anyone know what i have going on?

So you fired your last round, ejected it just fine, and then today an empty chamber was hard to open? Or did the last casing stay in the gun overnight? Is it also hard to close now or just to open?

Thanks everyone for chiming in...completely embarrassed on this one, it was too long of screw on the talley. Had stuck my finger in there early on with the bolt issue, felt and couldnt see any protrusion. I removed the talley and damn if it didnt cycle and close easily, filed the screw down a bit, reinstalled and all is well. Classic case of not confirming a very obvious issue.

The rifle is a great shooter out of the box, my last 5 shots with cheap Sig 150 FMJ factory stuff was all in 1". Excited to get loading for this thing.

Before you filed the screw down, you might have wanted to see if one of your rear mount screws was too short.

This is what I was thinking. Not all mounting screws are the same length and can be meant for the front or rear mount depending on the model of the gun
