Bolt Action suppressor input needed

I’m looking at a YHM turbo T3 for my 223 and 22 arc BOLT action rifle… I also considered the YHM R9 so I can throw it on my 350 legend. I don’t think I could justify a dedicated can for the 350 being that it’s only used 2-3 times a year

How much sound suppression would I lose if I put the R9 on my 22 Cal rifles?

That can looks like it is optimized for a gas gun. Not sure exactly how it rates, but I would compare it with an AB A-10.

I also don’t think you are going to get optimal outcomes from trying a 9mm caliber suppressor on a .223.

Getting one can to do everything from .223 to .30 caliber sort of works, but isn’t ideal. Getting one can to do everything from .223 to .360 is going to be pretty noisy.

You would probably be better off getting a Fly 9 for the .350 Legend and an AB A-10 for the .223.

I swap them around as needed, which is pretty often right now, and I can tell you there seems to be a slight loss of effectiveness when the R9 is on a 16" 5.56. But that's pretty subjective, my ear isn't a measuring device.

If you want a short, light, relatively cheap can, YHM makes great stuff. I have two and hope to own another soon. But if you want maximum suppression, there are better options. They work more than 'well enough' to allow me (or my kids - I started down this road because of my middle child who hates noise/blast) to fire one or two shots in a hunting scenario without issues, but they aren't meant to be the quietest things on the market.

This will almost sound mean and I don't intend it that way, but.....you just need more cans. I have four. I need at least four more. I need at least one more .22lr can (I have two already) and I need at least 3 more centerfire cans in .22 to .30 configurations.

I will likely end up with one of those being one of the reflex designs, but I can't say which one. I can only tell you that once you buy one, it ruins every non-suppressed rifle you own. I confirmed zero on my dad's deer rifle today (not threaded) and it was terrible. I dreaded doing it. And I have a very accurate custom rifle I simply never shoot anymore for the same reason.

A single can like the R9 will work decently well enough for a while, but you will not be content to only own one, in the long run.

I’ll get there, but for the moment, I’m focused on the 22cals which I may shoot 3-5 times per night of hunting.

For a bolt gun i really recommend a Diligent Defense Enticer S, @ZeroFoxGiven has them for i believe $450, great can for the price on a bolt gun!!

It’s definitely a good buy for the money. As stated above by another member the AB-a10 is good as well for the money

So far fairly pleased with a Polonium 30 on my 22 cal guns. I got it for the blasters since it handles high volume better than the lightweight TI cans.
The Polonium is built tougher than you need for bolt guns but the price is good. The wife says no but I will be getting a 22 cal polonium K too lol.

I tried sticking to just one suppressor to get me by. That lasted about 4 weeks. Just get good suppressors that accomplish specific tasks or needs.

I put my 46M (46 cal) on my friends 5.56 AR with a 308 end cap. It was louder than sending my spicy 6.5 loads through it. Tried the 46 cal end cap for shits and giggles and it was not hearing safe. Based off that unscientific test, a 223 end cap would probably have knocked off a few extra decibels. We both shot the entire session without ears. ~300 rounds of 5.56 and ~40 rounds of 6.5 through the same can.

yup. I have a bunch of silencers and seem to always gravitate towards my ultra 7.

Enticer S in raw starts at $450. The Ti versions go up quite a bit in price. The S is an awesome budget option if you’re not super weight conscious. Still not bad at 13.8oz with direct thread mount!
