Blood in elk beds

Depending on where you are it could be hoof rot. See this often in Western Washington

I have shed hunted plenty, I have not seen deer and elk wintering together at least in the areas I have gone but I'm sure there are exceptions to that.

I just saw a herd of 40 elk with a dozen mule deer less then 30 yards from them yesterday. All grazing on a hillside together.

With respect, wait till fall take it its antlers then. This early shed hunting, people think they aren't part of the problem. "It's everybody else". Think about it.
