Blind or no blind for South Dakota west river hunt

Depends on what time of the year you go. If it’s early season, hunting water with a blind wouldn’t be a bad idea, unless you can get up higher and glass further around and bed stuff down. If you’re hunting the rut, there’s a good chance it’ll be cold as freakin balls and sitting in a blind over a transition area is a real struggle. I’ve killed deer without a blind while sitting and also spot and stalk, both are fun. Up to you what you like better. IMO I like spot and stalk the best either way

We have had twice our normal amount of rainfall this summer. There is literally water everywhere. Likely won't be productive trying to dig ester this year.

Going to be in September 29 to scout in northwest for October 1 bow season. Truck is pretty pack full from hunting 3 states and multi tags of bow elk, muley and bow & rifle bear tags. Sounds like water isn’t issue this year with heavy snow this past winter and wet spring and summer.

We’re going the same week. I’m bringing a stand Incase I stumble across a nice whitetail along the rivers

i would leave the blind at home. Been here 40 years and still looking for a straight tree to put a stand in like they do down south
