Blaser R8 Field Evaluation

The barrel I received does not have sights. I ordered a barrel with sights. What would the partial refund be if I kept what you sent?
If I do send this barrel back, when would I receive the correct one back with sights?

Yes, tracking on that.
The partial refund would be the delta between cost of barrel with sights vs without.
Essentially $160, but I’ll hook you up with a little extra for your pain and suffering.
I texted my Blaser rep to see what he has on hand, he has not gotten back to me yet.
When the warehouse gets back to me with my request, I’ll update you on that.

Update : Blaser has a barrel with sights on hand, if you want to replace it - can have it to you within a week or so.

The barrel we have on hand does not have sights either
So we can either
Option a - Partial refund
Option b - send back for full refund
Option c - Send back for a swap to a barrel with sights that is incoming from Blaser for you, I'll overnight the replacement and the return to expedite the process

Sorry for the headache, I hate when stuff like this happens.

I’d prefer this one to be handled in the open, as it was posted in the open and I want everyone to see how I handle customer service issues.
If you would like it to be handled internally, we absolutely can do that.

I can refund you the difference in price you paid for the barrel that should have had sights, vs the price of a barrel without sights AKA $160.
OR
You can send that barrel back, and I will send you a new barrel WITH sights as soon as Blaser gets it to me, which would be within a week or so. I will overnight the shipment of your return back to us, and the replacement to you.

Received my Akila adapter and 6BR barrel from Texas Sporting Arms. With the 16” semi weight contour milled back to 0.750” 4” behind the muzzle for my OG65, OG65, the Akila pic rail, a Swfa 3-9 in NF UL rings, and the professional 2.0 stock, we have a weight of 9.6lbs.

Only thing I had to do was sand out my barrel channel due to the larger shank area (took 5 minutes with sand paper before I’m free floated back to integral chassis).

Tested ejection with a bunch of brass and had no issues with the Akila low profile pic rail. It mounts with a large stainless pin and two big screws, so I will try this for retention and report back.

Lined up on the trigger, you can see the 16” R8 with OG65 is much shorter than a 16” tikka with an airlock Nano. The OG65 perfectly offsets the trigger length savings.

Thanks for posting. The length of pull on your R8 looks longer than the others. Does that affect you for what you are trying to accomplish?

It’s just the angle. Both my r8s have a LOP of 14.5. 14.5 is the LOP I have every gun except the factory tikka stock, which is just shorter.

That’s why for the muzzle length comparisons I aligned them all on the trigger.

I appreciate Jakes help. Glad I brought this situation up otherwise I just would of stewed about it and been pissed at the company forever for not responding back to me. Once the refund is received I will consider the case closed and the customer service excellent.
Now, either get rid of the contact form on the web site or have the staff to answer it
