Black ovis/camofire going out of business?

Best news I've heard all day. I used to buy all my gear from them, then after the *most recent* MF conviction I emailed and asked if they would continue to carry MF gear. They never replied, which was odd because prior to that I would get very quick responses for any questions I had. (A second email went unanswered as well) Never spent another $ with Blackovis after that day. By all accounts the owner is a nice guy and maybe his hands were tied so he had to continue to peddle MF branded crap, but multiple wildlife convictions are not something I can look past and choose to spend my money with companies that feel the same.

By golly!! Sounds like your email and boycott closed their doors!

While his didnt - the collective disdain for BO/CF and MF and associated poaching had a major hand in it. Jmho.

I hope other retailers notice. The days of hunters flocking to the sport are gone, so being aware of the community and their collective ethics is important to staying in business.

I wish you were right but I doubt it. Just like people still watch the NFL like it is their religion while they support the woke left destroying the country.

Sad to hear. Like many others have said, their merino items are much appreciated. I always had good customer service and trouble free transactions with them.

Man, I had to Google it to find out what the heck was going on with CF and found this. Now I know. That’s too bad.

Idk how much money anyone was saving with Bo merino

Wet toilet paper seems to be more durable.
This was my experience too actually. I bought 3 different merino pieces and none of them lasted more than a week literally.

Still, they had a lot of other cool stuff, and I’m sad to see them go.

I think economy/tariffs played a bigger role.

But when capatalism comes to kill the weak/sick businesses, a customer base that despises business investments that the company is choosing to make is basically cancer.

Dunno how much it hurt but I know I ceased spending money with them over it. That one email reply they sent someone about how the poacher muley freak was posting interesting updates from his side of things was weird, its like the poach muley freak wrote the email himself type of weird. Even if they wanted to give the benefit of the doubt while in court the convictions aren't up for debate, they happened and yet they continued to carry gear from the poacher muley freak. Can't say I hoped for them going out of business, I personally hoped they'd do the right thing an sever ties with the poacher muley freak.

I would guess that if they've been facing a potential bankruptcy for awhile, they'd be hesitant to pull a brand that sells even if he's a convicted poacher. I know I would if it meant the possibility of saving the business and peoples' jobs.

Yeah you keep hammering this, if that was the case they could have easily adjusted prices and let the customer decide, but it seems there was decline far beyond tariffs
