I'm in the market for a thermal monocular. Anyone know of any BF deals? I'm currently leaning towards the AGM Taipan 15-256, but would maybe step up to the 15-384 if there's a great deal.
Thank you. Have you used one of the models, and if so, which one?Take a look at Rix handheld. For the money they are hard to beat
Yeah i have the K2 & the taipan. I much prefer the K2. The K3 is a 384. I haven't used that one yet. I plan on picking it up soon. A 384 for $700 sounds awesomeThank you. Have you used one of the models, and if so, which one?

Preferably under $1k. My use case is game recoveryWhat’s your budget?
The only reason I asked is the new scopes have driven the price of the older 35mm 384 scopes way down. A 640 resolution scanner with a range finder is only $2500 now. Those older ones can be had for around $1000 now.Preferably under $1k. My use case is game recovery
Thank you. I had not considered that option. Is there a particular brand, and how easy is it to pocket that size scope over a monocular? The only reason I asked is the new scopes have driven the price of the older 35mm 384 scopes way down. Buying a used 384 scope set up as a scanner will be way better vs the ones listed. I have a 2x 384 I use for getting in and out of my stand.
Scopes won’t be as easy to pocket as the smaller monoculars, but mainly due to larger objectives and mounts. AGM, Bering optics, Iray, pulsar(scanners). They will keep getting cheaper as warranty runs out and tech keeps improving!Thank you. I had not considered that option. And I suppose the scope gives me options for coyotes and pigs.
This. I have my super yoter on my rifle and an agm rattler 256 as a handheld scanner but can clip it in for a buddy to use or toss it in a 22 to whack pests around the yardI have an agm rattler that’s a scope on a qd mount, I use it for a scope when I want it for that, and then pop it off and pocket it for a scanner during hunting season. If you took the qd mount off it’s about the size of alot of scanners
