This is the best site I know of to track the ads

http://bfads.net/

Don't need much for hunting unless Kifaru is gonna have a doorbuster of a DT3 with Bikini frame....I'm gonna get me a giant TV this year for the new house.

Yeah, for general sales and deals I watch the slickdeals postings.

http://slickdeals.net/blackfriday/

However, they don't necessarily hit the outdoors or hunting areas of interest nearly as much. I swear I have read where people found deals last year. Perhaps a good sale on optics or a headlamp or knives. Maybe some of the site supporting vendors would want to jump on board and have their rokslide black Friday sales.

While not black Friday, you can get $40 off select Kryptek gear at Cabelas online currently when you include the $20 off $150 or more coupon.

My wife is the queen of black Friday. Holy crap I think she preps more for that than I do for a two week elk hunt. Pays off though, last year she got me a 260$ puffy for fifty bucks on some sort of fifteen minute sale that she was jonny on the spot for. This year ive got here on the lookout for a jet boil

Kuiu had a good sale last year I purchased a few items. I only buy when they have closeouts or purchased used. Am I the only one who finds it ironic how prices have only gone up since the groundbreaking " made in america " slogan was lost.. Or how Jason's claim to fame for kuiu was "direct to consumer" pricing will make items affordable and customers wont pay the 40% retail markup.. Yet they have 30-40% off sales from time to time.. I highly doubt there losing money when they run a sale... Ok rant over.

Ill keep an eye out on my emails for their ads. Its a love hate relationship.

We are planning on running a few sales on all of our gear in the coming weeks as well. Hopefully you all know already that we offer a 15% discount for Rokslide Members. Simply type rokslide in the discount box at checkout. Hope this helps! www.packfitter.com

Hoping Slick Bags go on sale :0 Going to wait a little bit to buy one just in case..

Also hope Steve has another 25% sale like last year so I can spend money I don't have on more First Lite gear.. Although he just had a 15% sale that I didn't jump on, so maybe not..

Manufacturers make money. They have margins just like any other manufacturer. His point was that the same garment sold at Cabelas vs from him directly online would be another 30-50% higher (in line w new Sitka pricing).

While they aren't cheap by any means, quality wise they have one of the best price points on the market (besides maybe kryptek).

I think what Hardstalk was saying was the same thing that got me upset with KUIU. Yes they do have good prices and keep them lower by not selling them through a middle man. But... when they made the switch to China Jason claimed there were two reasons why 1) it will cost less to make the products since they will be manufacturing them in house where they purchase the materials from (rather than buying the materials from one company and then shipping to/manufacturing at another) 2) With this new model there will be better QA/QC and they will be able to keep more things in stock.

Both make sense.

The main problem with number one is now that everything is made in China and KUIU is savings tons of money, the prices haven't gone down. It all went into KUIUs pockets. So now we get Chinese gear for the same price as the North American gear we've been buying. I don't see anything beneficial from this for the consumer. Then number two is a no brainer, the popular stuff is still never in stock and there was quite a few sizing kinks when the switch was made (I think most of which has been sorted out).

Personally... I love what I have and I'm keeping what I have but over this incident I started buying new gear from other companies, mainly First Lite (especially now that they started making technical clothing). I know they are also made in China like everyone else, but what I like is that there isn't any BS. I would buy Kryptek and may in the near future, but in general I like First Lites patterns better, so it's just personal preference..

Well best black friday deal I found so far is the Garmin 62S at Cabelas for 199. I misplaced my Garmin on the mountain in Sept and had to drive to Grand Junction and paid 349 for the 62S. Two days later found my misplaced unit.

Many things irk me about Kuiu, and just when I was about to start hating on them again, I received the new Kenetrek catalog and see a Sitka Stormfront jacket listed for $600!!! I couldn't decide if I wanted to laugh or throw up. Guess it's time to start loving on Kuiu again. Flyer in the mail says 15% off Kuiu (except zamberland boots) through the end of December, betting they will be having some more discounts as the holiday season rolls on.
