Bitcoin

Do you agree with Ric Edelman that BTC will reach 500k by 2030?
I have been reading this thread pretty close and following bitcoin more since I first commented in this thread. And you seem like a true believer in Bitcoin. Why? The more I read and know about bitcoin the more confused I get seems like. Its almost as if people need to plant a flag and be a bitcoin lover or a bitcoin hater.

I will get this out of the way in case we start a discussion. Early adopters of bitcoin made a killing, everyone acknowledges that. Early adopters of lots of other stuff did too. What looking forward looks so great?

We get it...you guys heavy into Bitcoin need to keep pumping it.

Then there are the independents, like this Article from Bloomberg;
  • Bloomberg strategist Mike McGlone warned Bitcoin could fall to $10,000.
  • Critics continue to question Bitcoin’s investment case.
  • Institutional adoption remains active despite volatility.

Like I said, I have no dog in this fight, I don't care whether it goes to $500k or $10k....but its obvious a guy needs to trade this technically since it has no fundamental value....and the chart looks weak.

Last week had the Bitcoin conference to pump it up....moving forward technicals and hype will rule.

I posted the Ric Edelman interview because it is relevant to this thread and I value his opinion.
I'm not a trader. I am a long term investor. I'm not naive enough to think I can pump a 17 year old asset that has a total market cap of over 600 billion dollars. The Bitcoin conference was held by and attended by a small number of industry enthusiasts and investors. The conference has no bearing on the value and couldn't "pump" the price if they tried.

I have no desire to try to convince you or anyone else to invest in Bitcoin. Either you get it or you don't. I've put in the time to learn everything I can about Bitcoin and believe in it enough to invest my hard earned money in it. If you've done the research and feel that it's not a good investment for you that's fine with me. There are millions of other investments for you to chose from. I hope you choose well.

There is absolutely no actual reason to agree or disagree with him. Just like there was no reason to agree or disagree with him that it would be at $150-200k by the end of 2025. BTC has nothing to base a valuation from. It's all based on feelings if people will buy it or not.

Maybe you misunderstood the tone of my post. I haven't planted my flag. Its true I am leaning against it. I just want to hear from a true believer why you like it. What I am saying is I am skeptical but intrigued, want to hear your reasoning.

There will only ever be 21,000,000 bitcoin, whereas we print dollars out the ass. Once governments and major corporations started getting involved, that told me all I needed to know, get on board before it’s too late. I’m not saying or hoping the dollar will fail, but banks are closed all the time and sending money is a pain in the ass, bitcoin is open 24/7 and you can send it in seconds across the world. Major utility.
