Binos instead of Spotting scope

I use my 15x16 binos and once bought a spotter but got rid of it quickly. Binos work way better. Sometimes I've gone lighter and just used my 10x binos on light tripod as where I was hunting I didn't need anymore range. Simply having 10s on tripod in some windy conditions made the difference. I don't hunt much steep terrain so if I spot something a mile or two off it's fairly easy to cut some distance to get a better look with binos

I use 12’s free hand and on a tripod, then go up to my 18’s on the pod. But currently thinking bout selling the 18 UHD’s to get a higher quality spotter.

I try and hunt as light as possible, so spotter only comes out for mule deer and truck glassing.

I'm running Razor 12x50s on a tripod. A hunting partner will bring a spotter and we'll use my tripod if we're hunting together to save weight. It works well and we really only use the spotter when we're trying to decide how large something is. Since I'm new, most animals are large enough for me

A pair of binos can’t replace a good spotter. Big binos are useful but the only time they replace a spotter for me is while shed hunting. If I’m hunting all in think cover I’ll either only run my 10’s on my chest or just use my range finder to glass.

If I’m hunting in the back country for elk I’m taking a big spotter. I messed up this year and took my 15’s and ATC and every time wished that I had my big spotter, I sold both and bought a pair on NL14’s. When going into big country I’ll take them and my big spotter.

Yes !! Swaro 15's on a tripod. Don't always want to carry a spotting scope.
