Ive tried a couple of those. Unless you are using them as a dedicated night bino- I don’t see any real advantage- maybe a little with the 10x50, but not with the 8’s.

8x40 or 42mm lets in an amazing amount of light…and they are much smaller and lighter than the 50mm.

In my 30’s and 40’s I preferred 10x, later in life I prefer 8x For most stuff- except big open country- then I prefer 10x and 18x

I personally run the Swaro 10x56 SLC and find them a joy to use. They're large, but well-balanced. The ELs gave me the rolling ball effect, and I was considering the Victory HTs until I heard how great the SLCs are.

It doesn't look like you're too cost-sensitive, but I would at least test drive the Maven B.6 (Maven does free-ish demos). A very impressive piece of 10x50 glass in a compact package.

In the premium optics realm, always go Swarovski — not necessarily because the optics are superior, but because the warranty is better. I learned this from a guy who sold all the top brands.

Did he have bad experience with zeiss and Leica? I just bought some victories this summer…

I don't believe he had bad experiences with any of them. He did, however, feel that Swaro's warranty was the best. To him, that was the big difference, especially when buying his own binos. It was something that stuck with me.

Of those options I would take the 10x50 swaro. The others have narrow AFOV and my eyes don't really dilate over 6mm so I don't get the advantage of the bigger exit pupil. However in almost all circumstances I would prefer an 8/10x42.
