The problem with "wait and see" is your credit card company may only be on your side if the purchase was <90 days ago. Past that many of them say tough caca. That's probably exactly why you got a 60-90 day response from the company, and they probably knew it would be more.

If you guys have ever tried to start a company you would know it takes a lot of money. Dont hate on people trying to make a living and a great product. If you dont want to wait for a product then dont order something on back order. I have never had any trouble getting items form KUIU that are IN STOCK.

Everyone needs to chill.

If this is the problem, maybe they should have gone the Kickstarter route instead.

This is my fear exactly. Like I said... I have no problem waiting. I have no problem with back order. I understood all that going in. This is a little different.

It's actually why I waited. I didn't want to get screwed where I couldn't call my CC company in case it was a scam. I figure by the time people got their coolers from the preorder they should be pretty close to having an inventory anyway

I almost pulled the trigger several times, now I'm glad I didn't. I couldn't find but 1 video on youtube showing a real rtic, even then it just didn't feel right. The rtic looks promising and I would like to pu one for a bait/small drink cooler but I heard their was a lawsuit dropped on them by yeti anyone else hear this?

Just checked thier website all coolers are back ordered until 04/05/16

Just from a logic standpoint: A (new) company accepts your money and promises delivery in (x) months. The longer the time and the more push-backs which occur....the greater the chance the company doesn't deliver.

This is not intended as a slap on RTIC. Accepting up-front money to finance future sales is a well-known business strategy when launching. It does put the risk on the consumer. I would do it with a cooler, but probably not a $5,000 item.

Just my personal opinion here, but I don't mind waiting on something if the company says it will not ship until.....whenever, and then it ships. The problem I have is ordering somthing and being told it will ship on date X.... then a month or two later your still waiting on it.

Exactly...I assume that RTIC knew how long it would take to get the coolers shipped but didn't tell the whole truth to the people that paid upfront for them. This way they could get money for orders that would take 4 months or more to fill.

Yeti filed a trademark infringement claim against RTIC. Could be the source of the hold up.

When RTIC first came out they offered a 7yr warranty (2yrs more) than their competition Yeti. Last week they made a drastic change from 7yrs to 90 days. Yup that's right I said 90 days. To me this is completely unacceptable and goes against the companies whole message to the consumer. I do have one of their coolers and I don't have any complaints as of yet, besides the turn around time from order to delivery. But if they are going to make such a drastic change in warranty, what does that say about their confidence in their product long term. The reason I bought a Yeti was they stood behind their product and it's track record. I took a chance on RTIC and planned on buying more with the soft side coolers out now and the 115 coming. For now I will not be purchasing anymore products from them and will wait to see what they do in the future. Just my thoughts.....

That is complete horseshit in my opinion. That's borderline a bait and switch. Back a product with a 7 year warranty take a bunch of orders, finally fill the orders then change the warranty... Seems about as shady as you can be.

Every single product they make looks like an exact ripoff of an existing Yeti product. If that didn't raise a red flag, pushing back delivery on prepaid orders and shortening the warranty by 96.5% should do so.

I wouldn't buy one of their coolers for half price if it was sitting right in front of me.
