Why do you feel the need to burn your garbage? How much weight are we talking about, 8 oz or less? Are you really that lazy you can't pack it out? I can't figure out why leaving trash is bad, but burning it is OK even if it doesn't all burn up. The solution is easy, pack it out. I doubt you will even notice it, and it's the right thing to do.

Reminds me of all those redneck travelers who pull off at a mtn pass and jump out and say "Smell that fresh mountain air!" and then light up a cig. So let’s burn some garage, stink up (and litter) the wilderness instead.

I am firmly in the Ziploc camp. One gallon bags for daily food bags and my Mt House and Top Ramen in quart freezer bags. They have worked for me without fail for years. Like others have mentioned, they make great garbage bags when you are done and burn easy when given the opportunity. All of my daily food bags are labeled with calories and weight.

This is exactly what I do. I pack along two of the flattened MH containers to cook the food in (one as a backup). The MH meals fit almost perfectly into the quart size and the shape is extremely conducive to packing!
