best waterproof/windproof lighter?

I carry a bic and also a Ronson Jet Lite from Walmart you can usually find them in most of the checkout isles they run on butane and sometimes you have to slightly move the little tip that sticks out into the center of the flame but with a little adjusting you can make the flame as big or small as you want

Yeah, I like the BIC-like lighters too, but I do prefer the ones that have the little adjustment lever to make the flame higher or lower. Nothing worse than trying to the get the flame to your tinder and it is only a half of an inch long.

I thing a classic Zippo is really tough to beat. Mine is going on 20 tears old. I haven't had good luck with the torch style, but a BIC hasn't let me down either.

The best windproof lighter? Easy- your canister stove. A trick with bic lighters is to pop the child safe off the flint wheel. This makes the flame bigger and easier to light.

I found a Solo Trek Double flame torch awhile back and am impressed with it. It's held the same butane for 5 years and still lights at higher altitudes.

If you actually want to start a fire with no effort get a “lightning strike” fire starter. Wind and water proof, stores cotton balls and vasoline inside,and you can do it with gloves. It’s like having a massive candle that burns for 3-4 minutes. For stoves I got a Optimus sparky which has a big button and extended piezo if your stove doesn’t have a piezo already. If you ever actually needed a fire nobody in their right mind would use a bic if they had a lightning strike available.
