Best spotter for long distance shooting?

I’ve had the most experience in a range setting with the Vortex Razor compact but have used a 85mm Razor on some occasions. Yeah the glass is mediocre but they worked good for spotting impacts. The only thing I would suggest to make them better would be an eyepiece with a reticle to get precise hold calls upon a miss. I’m not entirely sure Vortex makes an eyepiece like that.

"Best" is an interesting word. Best Optically? Best for the $$$? Best power?
Please give us a call, 516-217-1000, so we can discuss what spotter would be "best" for your need.

I use a Bushnell LMSS2 8-40x60mm spotter with the H322 Christmas tree reticle. The glass does not compare to my Swaro BTX or a high-end Kowa but being able to use the spotter on 8x is great for days when mirage screws everything (including Swaros) above 20X. So having a low-end magnification of 8X and a reticle that allows you to give corrections to a shooter in exact MILS like 0.6 MILS to the right and 0.2 MILS low rather than 2 and a half targets low and one and a half targets to the left.

15x or 18x binos (14x NLs too) unless you are shooting 1000+ yards only. Then a spotter with a reticle or a BTX. Both eyes open is way better for spotting shots

First gen vortex razor fixed 30x reticled eyepieces work on Swaro's....

I got a Swarovski STX with 120mm and the 1.7X add-on from Cameraland. Doug and Neal both spent time making sure I understood that it would take great weather to get maximum yardage out of it (or any spotting scope). Understood. I just wanted something that would give me the best chance down the range possible.
