Best Merino Briefs?

I have a multiple pair of the Kuiu, cause yes I’m a Kuiu fanboy…self admitted. I am a size 34 waist and initially bought a three pack of size large. They fit decent but after wearing them I was getting wedgys/wedges(sp?). So I bought a single size medium. They seamed ok, so I bought like six pair. I went on a fall sheep hunt in AK in Aug. Of allllllll my gear, the one item that I was pissssed about was my underwear. Long days of hiking and even the mediums were giving me the same issue. To the point I cut slits in the taint area to relieve the issue! I can wear them ok with shorts and some paints for everyday wear…but never again for any amount of walking or hiking so. I may try the smartwool brand and see if they do better. Have NM next month and CO in Oct to try a new brand!

Was hoping to see more about briefs on here, looks like most folks are talking about boxer briefs. Not by choice, but I need something with a little more support. Anyone wearing wool briefs? (no material down the thigh)

Another boxer brief here - I've had good luck with the Ibex long boxer briefs. If you can catch them on sale they're reasonable, and they've held up well for me.

How long are they? I'm all leg so I really like about a 9-11 inch inseam when I can

I had black ovis ones when they first came out and they barley lasted a year and a half paper thin and fell apart , I like my other stuff from ovis , and they were super comfy just didint last

Went away from Smartwool boxer/briefs this year - IME they sometimes ride up and their overall design varies a bit too much over time (cannot just buy another pair and assume they will be the same as the one’s I already own).

Tried a brand new to me = Merino Tech. Wore their boxer/briefs during my Yukon Sheep Hunt this year and they outperformed my expectations. The wool was extremely comfortable, the waistband is well designed and kept its form after extended wear, they never rode up, and felt great over a very wide temperature and activity ranges. Overall, I was very satisfied and will certainly be wearing them on my next mountain adventure. Wooly’s T-shirt (when I wore one), and lightweight Kuiu wool & Peloton base layers. All worked very well and I was extremely pleased with my clothing choices. But if/when I need to replace any underwear or base layers both Wooly’s and Merino Tech will be on my short list.

Did they hold their shape? Most of the Merino ones I have tried stretch out fast.

They did hold shape very well - this was on a single but long hunt. Don’t know yet how they will do after multiple washings. However, they held up better than my Smartwools did in the past.
