Icebreakers has been my favorite of the bunch so far (Kuiu, C4E, Ibex). I haven't tried out the First Lite, but have heard good things about it.

So for the guys using the Icebreaker merino base layers which pieces are you wearing? How is the sizing compared to say First Lite?

I can't comment on the FL side, but i'm 6' 175 with a slimmer build and wear M in icebreaker.

Wore my First Lite Llano QZ for a week lately and it was almost itch free. It did not stink , but does not keep near me as warm as Robinson Co. merino wool does. I think it would be good as an everyday shirt to wear for archery elk season.

If you want the ultimate, Cashmere. I buy merino but receive cashmere as gifts and have turned those gifts into hunting gear. It's flat out awesome.

I believe that First Lite uses the best merino 17.5 Micron and I wouldn't put anything else against my skin!

Exactly!

I own a few of the KUIU tops that are in merino and they are itchy once I start to sweat. The Llanno is much better than any other merino I own or have used.

After hiking around the hills for three days in the same clothes, and the Little Blonde at the store in town looks you in the eye and says "You don't smell bad like the other hunters that come in here....Just sayin'...."

You take notice and make sure that First Lite Chama shirt gets in the pack on all the hunts after that.

The Clymb has Icebreaker bottoms for $19-$29. three different types, everyday, 200, and 260. The down side is that they only have XL and XXL. I ordered 2 of the 200 and 2 of the 260. They came in today. The 260's seem to fit a little bigger that the 200's. As for sizing vs FL the 200 fit like the FL boxers that I have. I like these better that the Icebreaker boxers because of the longer legs. Hope this helps.

I'll echo jherald on that. I've worn kuiu and icebreaker and neither compare to the softness, smoothness of patagonia. A really big difference if comfort is your #1 criteria.
