Wear the heck out of my Sitka Apex pants with size L kneepads. Just received a pair of Timberlines today that I have no doubt will be great.

Love my Apex and Timberline pants. The knee pads are in the perfect spot and it's nice having the option to remove them whenever I want. I also drilled holes in my knee pads and they breathe way better. I haven't noticed any difference kneeling since drilling the holes. With this being said, I've been looking long and hard at the Kuiu Pro Pant because not having hip vents sucks and the Apex pant has a lot of spandex in it, like 13%. They seem to take forever to dry out when wet. The Sitka pants are easy to dial in as far as where the knee pads fall due to the multiple length inseams you can buy. Kuiu pants are all 34" inseam and I need a 32", so I'm concerned that the knee pads on the 34" wont be in the right spot when I go to kneel? Anyone have any experience they can share on that?

I grabbed a pair of Kings xkg preacher pants on sale a while back. They come with removable (foam) knee pads AND have pretty good hip zips/vents. I’ve hiked around a bunch in mine and the pads aren’t noticeable or obnoxious, and seem to stay put well.
If you find em on sale I’d say they’re worth looking into.

Kryptek Tora pants have the least annoying knee pads I've ever tried. I can't walk across the living room with Sitka knee pads without wanting to light them on fire.

I also have the King's preacher pants with the removable knee pads. They're contoured and comfortable but they do effect the breathability of the pants. I wouldn't want to keep the pads in all day on a warm day. You can't remove or install the pads without taking your pants off so I'm thinking about buying some of those Arc'teryx pads.
