Love my Apex and Timberline pants. The knee pads are in the perfect spot and it's nice having the option to remove them whenever I want. I also drilled holes in my knee pads and they breathe way better. I haven't noticed any difference kneeling since drilling the holes. With this being said, I've been looking long and hard at the Kuiu Pro Pant because not having hip vents sucks and the Apex pant has a lot of spandex in it, like 13%. They seem to take forever to dry out when wet. The Sitka pants are easy to dial in as far as where the knee pads fall due to the multiple length inseams you can buy. Kuiu pants are all 34" inseam and I need a 32", so I'm concerned that the knee pads on the 34" wont be in the right spot when I go to kneel? Anyone have any experience they can share on that?
