Now that the SWFA 6s have been discontinued is there an option either 6 or4 that dials and holds zero? Ideally less than or near $500

Probably not. I used to be, (still kinda am) a fixed power fan. Leupold discontinued theirs. So did SWFA. Allegedly the SWFA 6x may have a gen 2 release coming someday, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Trying not to hijack..... My 40 year old 7MM08 has a Burris signature fixed 6 power. I watch these hunting shows and guys are cranking up/down their scopes all the time. If your shooting under 300 yards, just effing shoot!

I emailed SWFA and the rep told me the Gen 2 fixed 6 power will be released Q1 2025
Thanks, great to know. It might be worth waiting in that case. I ordered a pair of the RS1.2s for my longer range rigs but I have a few other rifles that if I am going to keep I need to re-glass with something more reliable but that does not cost over a grand a pop and something like a fixed 6 seems about perfect.

Yea agree with you on that, most guns have a reasonable MPBR in the 250-300 range and on the lower end can still hold on hair out to 300 just fine. It would be nice to have the ability to dial for longer shots as an option. Bigger concern is a reasonable cost scope that reliably holds zero. Also not having a larger 3-15 or similar on these particular rifles.
