Burger Barn, right off Hwy-143, Lake Panguitch area of Utah.

Shot buck late in the day on general archery hunt, next day finished pack-out.
Drove down the hwy back to base camp. Saw all the vehicles parked so I stopped, being very hungry & tired.

Dbl bacon cheeseburger, fries, Orings never tasted better. Went back 2 days later for a great BBQ lunch.
Don't forget dessert, pies are yummm. Especially a slice of mountain berry pie.

After a packout I like to sit in a motel room with a crappy box of pizza on my stomach and eat until stretch marks appear. Wake up to housekeeping knocking on the door.

And, not in elk country, if you're near Stonewall, OK, stop in at the Onion Grill...it's about 10 minutes out of Ada.

Almost any burger is better with green chile on it. If you are in NM it’s a staple on any burger. For a fast food burger it’s hard to
beat a Blake’s NM style or a Freddy’s steak burger.

Not really an elk hunting state, but if you’re traveling on I5 in Northern California I highly recommend Yaks in Dunsmuir! Stopped there many times after hunting the Marbles and it never disappoints.

Savage Grill in Salmon Idaho is a place I've been to a few times. They have 1 pound burgers and great fries. Also, really good shakes to be had there.
I'm sure my buddy and I looked like a couple of savages when we chowed down at that place after an 8 day backpack bear hunt.
We both agreed we had never felt so stuffed in our lives.

Freemon's General Store West of Creede, CO really hit the spot after a buddy's elk hunt last year. Cash only and seasonal, but worth the stop if they are open and you are down in that area.

Memories. We used to stop at The Muckers Bucket in Creede, CO as well but I’m sure it’s closed down now.

Never had this after a hunt but a Titanic Burger at Tom’s Burgers and gyros in Idaho Falls is amazing

As long as you don’t argue they have the best slopper I’ll agree with this one.
The Hwy 50 corridor has some winners including the previously mentioned Big Burger World and 50 Burger in Salida.

Agree. Forgot about 50 Burger, which rocks. And the best onion rings I've ever had. My favorite Salida restaurant.
