Agreed on the Tikkas. I know they are shooters but I just can’t warm up to them. I tried to like them but just can’t do it. I will never own one

Nothing. Killed more deer at my family camp than any single cartridge (log book goes back three decades and legend doubles that span).
Tikka, Howa, Bergara, can't really go wrong with any of the three. I would suggest optics that are close to if not more than the price of the rifle. Vortex Viper HS or Leupold Vx3i are pretty solid and lightweight hunting scopes for the money.
Making this statement is the equivalent of stating that everyone who owns a creedmore or anything else trendy must spend their time sipping fancy coffee drinks at Starbucks while discussing the best way to put up their manbun and sucking on a vape pen.
Interesting- I have heard nothing but good things about Bergara and was just about to purchase one (B14 Wilderness Ridge 308). How many rifles is the sample size you are referring to?
I'm not sure where he's getting his info about Bergara, but I'll tell you hunting out west, I've seen more people pick one of those up in the past 2 years than probably everything else combined. It's a trued Remington 700 Style action (thicker walls, so stronger than the Remington), 2.5 lb trigger from the factory, and a Bergara barrel. They shoot, they shoot well. My buddy's dad has 2, both shoot MOA or better with factory loads, and one ragged hole with basic handloads. His boss shoots one in 28 Nosler and runs Hornady Precision Hunter ammo and gets 1/2 MOA groups without trying. It's too bad the gentleman above had a bad experience, but if this tells you anything, he's the only person I've ever heard of having problems with Bergaras.
