For the non reloaders the 6.5 PRC is arguably the best choice. You have one, so my vote is 7 PRC, lots of us will help you spend your money.

I agree the 6.5 PRC is probably the best mainstream option, but the .284s are just special I think haha

I don't know what pussy cat we are comparing to, but my 300 WSM with suppressor kicks less than my lightweight 270.

But, this is Rokslide, so we only need a 223/5.56.

300wsm you can load it hot and heavy or load it light and down on power if you want. I have all the options but do like the 300wsm.

I’m fairly partial to the boring ol’ 308.

But I would still vote 300WM or the 300WSM.

The horse is surely dead regarding the discussion of all three but my two points would involve that all three cartridges have centuries of cumulative load data and variety, and have monumental presence in factory loads.

I don’t wish for much in terms of gear anymore, but if Federal “peaked” the 308 I’d be giddy.

150 gr NBT 300wsm (no brake, no suppressor) has less felt recoil than a factory 270 Tikka.
