I live in Texas but hunt out west as well. If you had to pick a caliber to do it all everything from Texas whitetail to Bull elk what would you choose? 308, 7mm-08, 7mmPRC, 30-06, 300wsm? ( i already have a 6.5cm, 6.5prc, 270. Just have the itch to buy a new rifle. I don't Wana hear save your money and buy more ammo for the guns I have lol)

Well you already good all around cartridge options covered.

If I had to have 1 rifle for everything it'd probably be a 25 creed.

What is it about your existing rifles that leaves you wanting more? If they are just mediocre rifles, replace them with something nicer possibly in the same chambering.

.284 is by far the best all around caliber. Cartridges gets tricky and you will hear a ton of differing views, but currently 7 PRC takes the cake for factory ammo and rifle availability combined with being able to kill anything in North America.
That being said I like smaller calibers, but if you could only have 1, it is the 7 PRC.

Pretty hard to beat the 300 Win Mag. It is on the upper end for whitetail, but prefect for black bear, elk and mule deer out west, not to mention the exotic game in west texas as well.

.30 06 .308. 7mm. .270. All great all around, tried and true with factory ammo options readily available. Many more will fit the bill too, I don't know anything about the new cartridges/calibers

If you’re not a reloader, Better buy the .308 or -06 to prepare for the next ammo shortage just around the corner. The more common the caliber, the easier it is to find ammo in a shortage. 😉

The 25 Creed is what the people need, but don't realize they need it. The 300 WM would be dead if cartridge selection was not a d**k swinging contest.

I went with 6.5PRC for my do all. It has taken everything from antelope to elk cleanly and I love shooting it.

Since you want to buy a new rifle, I personally believe everyone should have a 30-06 and/or a .308. They are both timeless rounds that always seem to have great ammo availability just about everywhere on the planet. They both are more than enough to harvest everything on your list out to ranges most hunters shouldn't be shooting. Used reloading stuff for both is available on almost every street corner. Maybe consider a .308 in an AR platform?

I have a safe full of rifles, mostly bought for a specific hunting or shooting need, from .22 to .375 calibers.

If I had to choose just one rifle for all of my hunting it would be one of my .30 caliber rifles.

The 6cm is ideal for a do everything rifle for anything I actually do and am currently capable of doing.

If we take into account the things I like to imagine myself doing the 6.5 PRC might be more appropriate.

Well, you've already got 3 perfect do-all calibers in your stable, but if you really need another one, 7mm-08 would be my choice if shooting factory ammo. As a reloader, I'd consider a pivot to 280 AI or 7 SAUM, but those limit your rifle choices if buying off the rack. I personally wouldn't climb any higher than that up the recoil ladder.

7mm is my favorite caliber. As far as cartridge I really like the 7 saum. There's plenty of cartridges that would work great for a do all rifle. Just pick one that tickles your fancy and enjoy it. Who cares what others might say about it.

The correct answer is always the .300 Win Mag. Best all-around rifle for everything.

(And since I have rifles in all of your "potential" rifle options, they are all good choices!)
