Best .22 pistol Browning Buckmark or Ruger Mark IV

Mark IV owner here. I mounted a Burris Fastfire red dot on top. Sweet little gun. So much fun for me and kids to shoot. A real tack driver. Only quirk ... it won't feed Remington Thunderbolt 22 ammo. Don't know why. Every other 22 ammo i've ever shot out of it cycles perfectly.

I’ve been shooting a Mark IV with vortex venom in my local 22 bullseye league. Put a few thousand rounds through it with very few jams. Every time it malfunctioned it was likely attributed to not enough oil after cleaning.

Very accurate and would highly recommend.

Based on my experience the Ruger, Browning, and S&W victory are all excellent. It just comes down to personal preference. Someone will say each of them is the best ever.

I have a m&p 22 pistol I use for my boys..I got it because it's full size and the controls are similar to other bigger caliber semi pistols..my oldest son is 15 and he moved from it to 9mm glock with no issues.

Anyone try the newer Taurus TX22 or TX22C competition model? Seems like Taurus may have changed their ways a bit and released a decent product

Just putting this question out there... does anybody know of a semi-auto pistol that can cycle those Copper-22's reliably?

Bought the boy a Walther P22, but I have to run regular rounds like CCI Mini-Mags thru it in order for it to reliably cycle. But we need lead-free out here in CA for hunting purposes. So I was curious if there was a pistol that cycled those Copper-22's so he could possibly make use of it if small game were to present itself while we were out and about with rifles more for big-game.

Love my ruger mk4. I can literally disassemble it for cleaning in less than 3 seconds. Not picky on ammo at all and very accurate. Build quality is great. Tons of aftermarket parts to fiddle with if you’re into that. Both are great though, choosing is half the fun!

I own both and prefer the Buckmark, my wife preferred the ruger.

If the Russians come, bet your life my Buckmark will be on me.

I traded into a Buckmark a few years ago, turns out that I love that little gun! Put a cheap reflex sight on it to try and love that too. 🤣 That gun has killed a mountain of rats at my in laws farm. I will say though, it definitely runs best when kept clean and well lubed as it will fail to eject when dirty. Honestly, I don’t think you can go wrong with either of your choices.

I have a buckmark. It was very finicky about ammo when it was new, but now that the recoil spring has worn in it will run swill at the level of remington golden bullets.

I got the buckmark because it was at a deep discount on a black friday sale. I originally wanted a Ruger. I worked at a university range that had Ruger rimfire pistols with round counts in the hundreds of thousands.

Either gun is great.
