Does this apply to the holy grail 215gr Hybrid OTMs too? You've posted at least a handful of kills with the 130gr OTMs at distances that I would assume are under 2k, but not sure in all cases. Assuming you've had access to the VLDs at the time of choosing the OTMs, why pick the OTM?

Yes it does. It applies in general to all of the thicker jacketed Bergers. There is some variation due to bullet length, tumbling etc.


I used the 130gr OTM because they were free. And experimentation. Up to that point ranges hadn’t exceeded their velocity windows. Then it started to. I would use them without hesitation if my ranges resulted in impact velocities above 2,050’ish FPS. I have used thick jacketed Bergers to below 1,800fps impact.

For some reason I thought the Hunter VLD had a thicker copper jacket. I was wrong.
