Anybody launching the Berger 156's in a 6.5 Creed? Thinking about setting them up for a new rifle. Rifle has a 1/8 twist @22" and at my elevation, the Berger stability calculator shows marginal stability for this. I really love the VLD's in 215 grain so wanted to stick with Berger but wanted to hear some thoughts on these 156's.

I have a load worked up for them with RL 16. I'm at 1000' of elevation and they are moving at 2650 fps. Accuracy is good, but I haven't done any long range verification yet. There is a thread in the Long Range Hunting section where another member was getting over 2700 out of a 20'' barrel.

The guy from Berger told me that if you are on the marginal side of their calculator that stability wasn't really the concern, just that you might see a small reduction in BC.

Marginal stability might only be a factor upon impact
That is to say flight might be tried up enough to group well but could lack that trademark berger violent expansion.

My 20” 6.5 creed loves the Berger 156 EOL factory ammo. Put 10 into less than an inch at 100 yards, I need to shoot it at distance to see if it is still stable at 500.
Muzzle velocity is 2,550 and I expect that to speed up a little after the Bartlein barrel has 150-200 rounds down the pipe.

I’m just playing with the 156 in my tikka superlite 22.5” barrel. With reloader 26 seems to be getting good results. I’m headed out to shoot some groups with a couple different powder charges. I’ll report back.

I had a chance to check these at 400 yds the other day. 5 shots went into 3''. I was quite happy.

The hunt I built this load for is around 8500' on average and they stay above 1800 fps quite a bit further than I would shoot a game animal.

I've been testing these in my 6.5 PRC with RL-26. I've reached 3,000 FPS at 54.5 grains with accuracy. I feel like I could get more speed but my goal was 3,000 so I'm done with that rifle. I love these bullets!

I settled on 48gn re26 in my 6.5 creed. Average 2734 fps 5fps SD in 5 shots. Tikka t3x 22.5 barrel around 2000 ft elevation 2deg c
5 shot group size under 1”

I’ll be playing with seating depth a bit to see if i can get better groups.

My sons xbolt loves the 156gr 6.5 factory round. Sportsmans and Midway sell it. He drilled an elk right behind the crease a month ago on an early hunt. The elk didnt go far and the lungs were shredded.
