It’s about time to post an initial review of this rifle. Bergara Ridge Carbon wilderness in 7 PRC. It has a 22 inch carbon barrel that came with an Omni brake which I swapped out for a 4port Salmon River Brake. It is currently topped with a Trijicon Credo HX 2.5-15x42 with Talley Light weight 1 piece rings. I have had it for a couple months and have done 2 range trips with about 75ish rounds through it. With the Magpul bipod it weighs in at 9lbs 6oz.

The stock is decent, it’s pretty stiff with a slight rubbery feel to it but it doesn’t feel cheap.

Action is extremely smooth and the trigger has a crisp break.

The gun is a tac driver and will clearly outshoot me. With a 5 shot groups I averaged around .75-1 moa with Hornadys 160 CX, 1-2 moa with Hornady 175g ELDX .5-1 moa with Hornady 180g Match, and .5-1 moa with Federals 170g Terminal Ascent. All shooting off a bipod and rear filler bag.

I have done a 15 shot group with 180 ELDMs and it had a 1.5 moa grouping.

I have done 1 10 shot group with the 170 terminal ascents and it had a 1.25 moa grouping. (Had only bought 2 box’s to test out and still wanting to do some distance shooting once I got it dialed in.)

I have to say I am extremely impressed with Federals Terminal Ascent. 7PRC has been getting a bunch of heat because Hornady can’t deliver the speeds they promised. Clearly Federal is doing something right.

Hopefully I will be harvesting my first elk with this gun this upcoming season.

Also with this brake the 7prc recoil is extremely manageable and I noticed a difference between it and the Omni brake.

Next range trip will be a variety of distances and shooting platforms. (Standing, off pack, off sticks, and just overall more realistic to in the field shooting)

Will update it as rd count and more range trips come

Right on. I recently picked up a 7prc also. Took it out yesterday and shot rocks. They’re lasers

Federal seems to be killing it with their 7prc offerings, the 175 eld-x shoots lights out in my fierce and avg 107fps faster than Hornady.

How are you liking the Trijicon? I have the same scope on my 7PRC with roughly 300 rounds on it and I’ve been impressed so far.

I bought one last year in 6.5prc. I put the Eric Cortina EZ Tuner muzzle brake on it. I got .25 groupings with Hornady 147 ELDX with 52.5 grains of Hodgson 4831. The first group is at 100yds. The 2nd group is at 1026yds. For the price there a really accurate rifle. I also have my trigger set at 2.4 pounds.

I like it so far, I used to use a Leopuld VX5 3-15x44. It’s an upgrade from it for sure. I ordered another to put on a 6.5 PRC fierce. (I know that gun is hated here. Bought it from a buddy and have shot it several times with zero issues and it’s a tack driver.)

I came from a VX5HD as well and my fierce was bought as a package that came with a VX5 on it as well. I sold the VX5 and had enough left over to buy the credo and a couple boxes of ammo.
I understand all the hate fierce receives, their customer service seems terrible and if this gun wasn’t shot out to 1000 yards at the store I bought it from I’m not sure I would have rolled the dice. I know have a hated fierce and christen arms and thankfully they both shoot lights out for me

If anyone is interested in comparing Federals 170g’s both boxes I bought were from batch B352V31. I ordered 6 more boxes from the same vendor, or atleast so says my gun shop. I will do a sampling of those batches when they get delivered.

Did another range trip today. After the last go I ordered several more boxes of Federals 170g Terminal Ascent. Definitely found my factory round. Attached are my first 3 shots on a cold barrel and then a chrono reading from a 5 shot string. Last photo will be a 12 shot group. It slowly opened up but still shot great.

I’ll need to adjust it up and right alittle for the next string.

Thank you for the review. These are on sale right now and I might make the jump from the steel barrel model to the carbon barrel.
