Benelli/Franchi “Click”?

2019 Franchi Affinity 3 Elite here - never even heard of this malady until yesterday [on another forum]. All sorts of loads from target through goose to coyote - counting my lucky stars, never had it happen.
Are the springs between the Benelli and Franchi the same diameter? I thought all Benelli springs were in the buttstock whereas Franchi are on the mag tube.
Following for sure.

I’ve got the Affinity 3.5. Bought it well used, and it’s been flawless for me.

You can bump it out pretty easily if you're carrying the gun in one hand by the receiver too. I pull my bolt back and let it slam home any time I suspect it may be out.

I've had it happen a couple of times (~2017 affinity 12 ga, maybe 700 rounds...) it hasn't really been a huge issue but like stated above, start with a replacement factory spring. I also think they are a great gun for the money

I missed a gobbler of a lifetime when my m2 had its one and only Click failure , it was from me trying to load the gun quietly earlier than day, I still dream about and wake in a cold sweat often

On the sbe3 at least I’ve found that the issue is partly related to the extractor dragging in this area when the bolt rotates to lock. Little lube there really seems to help.

I haven’t shot mine much but have an affinity 20g youth. In my first few range trips felt it did similar things.

Again I need to mess with it a bit more to confirm user error vs not, but I’ve been a bit underwhelmed. It is my first auto shotgun.

It’s more #2….i assume it’s a rotating bolt/lug like an AR. I do allow it to fully cycle into battery. Still an issue. Caught on a wader. Or the butt bumped from a slip or fall. I’ve been treating it like glass. Still happened again today. Super disappointed honestly.

Does anyone make a more stout spring ?

Im about the 100 shell mark. Shot a few rounds of trap with it. Spring seems SUPER soft.

No issues on pavement…but who uses a gun like that ? Does nothing for me. The birds are in the shitty stuff. Not on a 5 stand
I have an affinity 3.5 that will click sometimes but, that guns spring is stout! I have replaced my 20 gauge Benelli SBE3 spring with a beefier spring (even though the SBE3 was supposed to fix the click) to avoid this and cycle better when dirty.
