Beet Root Powder?

Mix the beet powder with some chocolate protein powder. That makes it tolerable. It definitely helps with blood psi.

looks like good stuff, anything to increase blood flow to my feet is a good thing for me,maybe it will keep my feet warmer and apparently ill be a cheap date to boot ! hah

I saw a commercial with Dana Loesch pushing the Superbeet soft chews. I can't remember what she said, I was too busy watching her. If it works lowering blood pressure, I sure could have used a couple after her commercial running around in those tight yoga pants. mmmmmm Wait-what was the question again??

I juice and add beets and notice if I stop using them. Seems my energy drops. I also notice the alcohol effect as well.

Four days ago I started taking the Spring Valley brand beet root capsules from Walmart; I take 2 capsules with breakfast. Have a home BP monitor I'm taking measurements once or twice a day. I see my doc in a couple months for annual checkup, so will look at my data then with him and see what he thinks. I have not experienced any higher energy levels than normal or anything different after I've had a beer the last few nights. But I imagine it will take a little while for it to really get going in my system, so we'll see. The supplements definitely are cheap enough, hope they work.

Beets in its purest form is always going to contain the most nutrients. Any processing diminishes what is available. Cooked beets are better for you than no beets. And powdered beets are probably better than no beets as well, but how were they processed? That matters too.

I juice and include the beets and the greens and notice a difference when I miss several days of juicing on vacation or something. I’m a believer in beets.

I eat A LOT of pickles beets. Always eat the greens sauteed in pasta dishes.

I'm almost out of beets now. I better learn how to garden in a pool

Thank you to everyone who contributed their experiences.

It really is a crappy dynamic that I feel like I’ve got to go go either “X” or forums like this for any semblance of sense and actual experience/truth.

I first searched, “beet root supplement effects” or something like that and got a bunch of websites I’d never heard of who are probably selling the stuff. I don’t believe WebMD or any of the other “I’ve heard of them” sites for a variety of reasons but I DO trust you guys.

Imagine the odds…I added “forum” to the search bar and this is among the first that came up…and it’s the same place I go for authoritative/accurate information about shooting/hunting and other outdoor stuff that I like.

Pretty wild. Thanks again

Started making smoothies for my wife in the morning with Beet Root Powder in it to help lower her blood pressure. She is down about 10 points after two weeks of it. Seems promising.

I experimented with it a few years back. Definitely gave a tingly pre-workout kind of feeling and I noticed an increase in energy. Seems like it would be better than the artificial stuff. Actually, come to think of it, thanks for the reminder I think I'll try it again!

Prior to reading this thread, I hadn’t heard of beet root. I’m going give it a try. Thank you for sharing your stories.

A food processor with a grater blade will make quick work of raw beets. Toss with olive oil and lemon juice and keep in the fridge. I like a small bowl in the AM during warm weather, but also makes a great salad topper or side dish.

I'm updating my own posts here. Had my annual physical/checkup with my doctor week before last. My BP was again down a couple of points, same thing as in 2023 and 2024. I haven't noticed any energy changes over the last couple years so I can't endorse the capsules for that but I'm encouraged by the BP lowering trend so I'll keep taking them.

I’m 66, 5’9” and 250. About 5 or 6 years ago my blood pressure was getting a bit high and my doctor was concerned. It was around 135/90. He said I could do something about it, or he would. I told him I’d deal with it and didn’t want to go onto prescription meds.

I tried Super Beets soft chews and also a chewable tablet called Neo40 IIRC, both products from same company, Humann. This stuff works!

Since starting on these supplements, my blood pressure has consistently been much better. Latest example was on Monday of this week. I had a doctor’s appointment and BP was 122/65. For the last few years, my BP has been near that level and most importantly, the Diastolic (lower) number is in the range of 65-75, which my doc loves.

WalMart sells a similar beet powder to the Humann product. My boss at work uses the WalMart product and has the same results as the Humann product and the WalMart beet powder is cheaper.
