I have used both and prefer the dial. it's really nice to have for long distance shooting.

If youre shooting 200yds and in, get a 3x9 SFP and go. Just know that the holds are only going to be good on max magnification.

If you want to do more, get a FFP mil scope and learn it. I just went through selling off and replacing all of my MOA scopes. I thought that I've always used MOA and I will continue. Mils are much easier.

A credo 3x9 seems to be right up your alley.
