I did spend some time in the 8 man cabela's guide tent last year during my sheep hunt. I was very comfortable but it was hot out in August.

I started using the Cabela's Guardian 8 man tent car camping with the family. Its held up pretty darn well to some serious rain storms! I use a 10x14 tarp as my ground cover. I have yet to face a wild crazy storm in it, but so far no complaints. Its not that expensive either.

As far a sleeping, the Kodiak/Spring Bar tents would be a good choice. No mesh porch, but I'd think that could be taken care of with a separate mesh backyard pop up from Wally World butted up to the front of the Kodiak tent. Add a Thermocell inside and you should be able to sit outside in protected comfort.

Through reccomendation of a few folks on here, I bought a Cabelas Guide Series, 8 man with aluminum poles.

I have only used mine on one trip so far (A friend had one for us on Kodiak in July), but it held up to pretty substantial wind and a pile of snow... Plenty of room for three people plus gear/cots, etc.
