Barrel break in

You have to try hard and be pretty dumb to damage a barrel cleaning it.

When I receive my barrels back from the gunsmith I will clean once before I shoot them to make sure there is no residue in it. I have never done the whole shoot one and clean bs. Once I have 200-250 rounds down the pipe I will do load development or fine tune if I was shooting leftover ammo from previous barrels.

I will clean a brand new barrel. Then I’ll shoot a bit with it. Then usually clean it again and then shoot it and don’t clean after that until it needs cleaned

And when we say clean; I’m really just using carbon remover; im not punching the barrel

I’ve only ever used a bore snake to clean my barrels, spray off the bolt or action with some brake cleaner.
