Out of my CVA optima the Barnes TMZ has been a proven killer. Took a mule deer here in Kansas last year on public ground. Shot was 210 yards, dropped the buck where he stood. Very impressed with the expansion and amount of trauma.

I'm a huge fan of the Barnes 290gr TMZ. I've now taken two large mule deer bucks with them, one at 218 yds and one at 125 yds. Both behind the shoulder shots. One broadside and one quartering toward me. Both bucks dropped in their tracks. Exit wounds were golf ball size. I push them with 84 gr (by weight) of Blackhorn 209. In my TC Omega I use the factory yellow sabot that comes with Barnes bullet pack. In my CVA Accura PR, I replace the factory sabot with a Knight Blue High Pressure boat tail sabot. The factory yellow sabot is too thick to load in my CVA. I regularly shoot 1" groups at 100 yds with these loads out of both guns.

Unfortunately, I'm having trouble finding these bullets right now. Luckily I have enough on hand to get me through this season (fingers crossed).
