Banish backcountry review

Once approved by ATF they send the letter to LLE. (Other companies do this when you file not when approved)
This is not correct. Any company that ships directly to your door, including Capitol Armory, must send a second notice to CLEO to record the transfer via 4473.

Silencer Central and Capitol Armory both send the first CLEO notice when you submit, just like everyone else. The second notice is just an extra step required as part of a non-over-the-counter sale, which takes the place of the 4473 you fill out in the store when you pick your can up at a counter, after you are approved.

Ok. so the second letter. (Statement corrected in OP) they still screwed the pooch and it still took 7 weeks after approved. Again my experience with them is they are poorly ran and operate like shit. All the others I have purchased I can pick up soon as approved and do not have to wait for them to learn how to address an envelope.

100 percent agree they are super slow after the fact and it's way better to buy in person if you have the option.

I've had mine since about October and the only suppressors I can compare to is the Scythe, Sand man Long and Ultra 7. It is super light, sound wise seems a little higher pitching "ping" to me than the others and I could not tell a noticeable recoil reduction like the Sandman and Scythe. The BB now lives on a 22-250 and rides in the ranch truck all day. Personally when I buy a suppressor my priorities are 1. Recoil reduction 2. I don't want to wear ear plugs 3. "whumpf" over "ping/ crack".

As far as dealing with Silencer Central. This was my first purchase and will be my last from them. The online thing was great to start, then it went to shit. Took them forever to get my fingerprint stuff to me (2 weeks) after they received my FP they didn't file my E-File for 3 more weeks. Once approved by ATF they send the letter to LLE. First two letters they sent to wrong address and were returned. Once the LLE gets a letter it is like 10 days before they ship your can to the local state dealer. Once the local dealer gets it they have 5 or 10 days (can't remember) to ship it to you. Bottom line is it took me about 7 weeks longer to get my can once approved than it ever has using SILENCER SHOP. I may be a one off but this was MY experience.

Surprised you didn’t notice a reduction in recoil. I took the can off and on and it definitely changed the recoil impulse to make spotting shots easier.

There was a small reduction (300 Sherman Max) but nothing like the Sandman, that being said the sandman weighs slightly less that a D8 dozer. For someone whos #1 priorities are lightweight and no ear pro required it is absolutely a great can. Works perfect on the 22-250 for me and will probably find its permanent home on the rokslide special once the rokstok gets here.

The Banish 30 is a shitty can. Its heavy and when you put it into the 9" configuration, its still louder than most competitors 7" silencers.

The whole "user serviceable" part is a joke, it's a cost saving scheme. It is far cheaper and easier to leave a loose baffle stack and thread the tube for caps than it is to properly weld up a full titanium silencer. This cost savings is not passed on to the customer because for the cost of a banish 30 you can buy pretty much anything else available for slightly more money and get a far better product.

The scythe everybody seems to love isn't user serviceable, nor are TBAC silencers outside of the rimfire can. Ask yourself why the top players in the game don't use that "feature" but somehow silencer central does....

Cliff notes:
The banish 30 is
-heavier
-louder
-just as expensive
-more gimmicky

than any of its competitors (which are not really competitors since there is no competition between banish stuff and other top quality products.

I bought the banish 30 hype, now I'm stuck with a pile of junk that I don't even want to use now that I have other silencers.

Are you saying you did see a recoil reduction with the Sandman and Scythe?
Yes sir absolutely. I have had the Sandman the longest and to ME it has great recoil reduction. Also weights 22ish oz. The Scythe (only had a few weeks) is like 6ish oz and has (to me) better sound reduction and as solid recoil reduction on smaller calibers. I have not had it on the big 30's yet.

Very good to know. My impressions has been that the BB is not at the top of the heap. Weight is my biggest concern but if it doesn't suppress sufficiently and reduce some recoil, what's the point?

That's kinda where I am at on it. It is light but I would choose the Scythe over it everytime. Again the Sandman is awesome but also HEAVY!! The BB has a different sound. I shoot hogs and coyotes 3-4 times a week and with the other two they either run to the shot or kinda amble around confused for a bit but to me they "jump" and don't really hang around after a shot with the BB. I think they can detect the direction better. Most of those hogs and dogs are killed at night so I know they cant see me.

Bro you are the authority on all things anti-Banish lol. You are front and center on any Google search about Banish cans. I know people that like their Banish 30s. Its better than no can at all. I personally am looking at other brands myself, mostly for variety.

lol they do have a great marketing department. I convinced you could put the label "Backcountry" "7mm" or "PRC" on a pile of fresh catshit and people would sell a kidney to have it.

That should be their new slogan: BANISH 30!!!! It'a better than no can at all!!!!

At least that would be true unlike the rest of their marketing.

They are on sale right now for 899 with a free banish 22 can.......maybe I should get another......maybe I should watch some very honest and objective youtube reviews and read some online articles.......ahhhh I'm falling for the marketing again!

It is a darn shame yours locked up. I like mine in the 9" config on my bench/varmint guns. It's too heavy and too long to be valuable as a hunting can, but at least it's not going to blow up at the welds!
